India's Digital Public Infrastructure (UPI, Aadhaar, ONDC, Account Aggregator) and Indonesia's fast-digitizing SMB base have created hundreds of millions of first-time digital businesses — right as capable AI became affordable to serve them. The winners here won't be US chatbots bolted onto a rupee price; they'll be built for these markets. That's the opening Katalock is taking.
Most AI products send every question to one expensive model and hope it's right.
I couldn't afford that, and I didn't trust it either. So I built around it.
K-Computer is Katalock's verification engine, running in chat and in Code. It asks several independent models from different labs the same question, checks the sources they cite, and has separate judges reconcile their answers.
- One answer with a score that shows how strongly the models agreed, and a clear note wherever they didn't.
- Runs automatically for questions about law, money, health and the news.
- In Code, it reviews the apps you build before you ship them.
What we're building next turns that one panel into a four-tier pyramid of specialist panels. A question starts at the base and climbs only as far as it needs to.
Every tier has its own arbiter, the Queen, whose job is to force a consensus before anything moves up.
- Built to resolve most work at the cheapest tier. Our design target is around 85% of tasks there, for roughly 10x lower running cost than sending everything to the top.
- A distillation flywheel: every hard problem the Apex solves becomes training data for our own smaller models, so the base gets smarter and the pyramid gets cheaper over time. It compounds.
- A dedicated regional tier for the vernacular and local business logic that the big labs overlook.
The pyramid is in development. Figures are design targets, not measured results.
Models are rented and replaceable. Our edge is the orchestration that decides which models to ask, how to weigh them and how to check them, and next, the flywheel that turns hard answers into cheaper ones.
